SDCH’s 40-bed nonprofit acute care hospital opens, admitting its first patient in the summer of 1961. Prior to SDCH opening, Davis County residents were required to travel north to Ogden or south to Salt Lake City for hospital treatment and emergency services.
SDCH would undergo a minor remodel in 1964 in order to accommodate 40 hospital beds.
